About this Event
The Department of Anthropology at UTRGV welcomes the community university to the first lecture of the 2025-2026 Speaker Series.
In her talk, Dr. Lisa Salinas will review the current prevalence of food insecurity, both nationwide and local to the Rio Grande Valley. She will also talk about what 'healthy eating' really means and how a person might stick to a food budget while making healthy food choices.
Lastly, she will speak about how some ways that food insecurity is being addressed and alleviated within the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
