CME FACULTY DEVELOPMENT SESSION: At the conclusion of this event, learners who submit completed evaluations via the CME Portal will receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.

SESSION DESCRIPTION

Understanding IRB processes is vital for protecting research participants and maintaining ethical standards. This session will guide faculty through submission requirements and ethical considerations when working with human subjects.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe the Institutional Review Board (IRB) review process, including the ethical principles that guide human subjects’ protections.
  • Identify the required submission materials and demonstrate how to complete and submit them.
  • Locate available IRB resources and apply them to meet researcher responsibilities and ensure ethical conduct throughout the study lifecycle, including the submission process.
