OBJECTIVES:  Upon conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Describe and interpret most recent data on the burden of syphilis and congenital syphilis in Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.

2. Review the definition, transmission, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of congential syphilis.

3. Discuss findings from fetal infant morbidity review board on congenital syphilis cases in Hidalgo, Cameron, and Starr Counties.
