Continuing Education: Persuasive Public Speaking

Part of the Professional Transferable Soft Skills Course Series

Summary: 

Public speaking represents an anxiety-provoking experience for many individuals.  This module consists of strategies that will reduce the discomfort for students and professionals so that the speaker’s content, not his/her nervousness, is what the audience focuses on. 

In addition to creating an engaging presentation, participants will have the opportunity to practice and receive feedback from the class.

Objectives
a) Make a powerful first impression
    i. Appropriate attire
    ii. Self-Introduction
b) Engage the audience
c) Organize thoughts and share them efficiently and effectively
d) PowerPoint do’s and don’ts
e) Using evaluations to improve your skills
