A discussion of A Christmas Carol will be held on Wednesday, December 4 (the last day of Fall classes) at 2 PM on Zoom.

Since 1843, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens has resonated for readers and for viewers of many adaptations. A Christmas Carol introduced the world to Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, the Cratchit family, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come, and other iconic characters.

Why is this story so influential? Which versions are your favorites? How does A Christmas Carol hold particular meanings for us in this current time? Join us for a spirited conversation about an enduring classic! The conversation will be facilitated by Dr. Marisa Palacios Knox, a faculty member in the UTRGV Department of Literatures and Cultural Studies. All viewpoints are welcome. While recommended reading or viewing includes any version of A Christmas Carol, no advance preparation is expected for attending this meeting.
