This performance was part of the closing concert for the 2017 concert season of the University of Costa Rica Symphony Orchestra. The program chosen for that evening was dedicated to works by Beethoven and featured his Piano Concerto No. 5, known as “Emperor”, and his Ninth Symphony.

It was presented at Costa Rica’s National Theatre as the gala concert celebrating the 75th anniversary of the National Conservatory of Music (now School of Musical Arts of the UCR), and the 120th anniversary of Costa Rica’s National Theatre. Dr. Juan Pablo Andrade, a distinguished alumni of that institution, was invited as the soloist for such occasion.
