 you to join us on March 7th and 8th for the Sawyer Seminar Series – The 
 US-Mexico Border Regime: Trauma\, Hospitality\, Art\, and Protest. \n\nAs 
 part of the event\, Dr. Ronald Rael\, Professor of Architecture at Univers
 ity of California Berkeley and author of Border as Architecture: A Manifes
 to for the US-Mexico Boundary\, will deliver a keynote speech on Tuesday\,
  March 7th at 5:00 in the Jeffers Theater (ELABS 106) and on zoom. We are 
 so excited to have Dr. Rael on our UTRGV campus and hope many faculty and 
 students will take the opportunity to hear him talk and engage in conversa
 tion with him. \n\nDr. Rael designed the pink seesaws through the border w
 all that became well-known nationally and internationally\, allowing kids 
 on both sides of the border to play together. He has also theorized on man
 y other ways to transform and utilize the border wall and has written more
  broadly and critically on the US-Mexico borderlands and border wall. He h
 as also received the extremely prestigious Beazley award in design. \n\nTh
 is is also an opportunity to meet Carrie Preston\, the Center on Forced Di
 splacement Director at Boston University\, and to have conversations with 
 other faculty and students from Boston University on issues related to glo
