Join us for the first installment of our new speaker series - The Infinite Frontier - on the UTRGV Brownsville campus. On Wednesday, Oct. 23, STSSI Director Dr. Joseph Romano will kick off this FREE program with a presentation exploring the "dark side of the universe." His talk will include how space-science experts observe colliding black holes, including those from orbiting pairs at the centers of millions of merging galaxies in the Milky way. Using metronomes, he will also demonstrate how pulsars (exotic dead stars) are used to detect these cosmic collisions.

This hour-long talk will include a Q&A session. Light refreshments will also be provided. Faculty, students and the RGV community are all welcome!
