La Posada Providencia, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Divine Providence, is a ministry for people in crisis from around the world, who are seeking legal refuge in this country. 

Volunteer Duties: Volunteers will be working outdoors or cleaning and organizing.

Dress Code: Volunteers should dress in comfortable clothing as they may be moving around or doing activities outside.

In 1994, Congress passed the King Holiday and Service Act, designating the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Holiday as a national day of service.
