This special event features faculty members in the Department of Literatures and Cultural Studies (Dr. Irina Armianu, Dr. Marisa Palacios Knox, and Dr. Noreen Rivera) in a panel about French, British, and American writers of European, Native, and Neo-Mexicana Descent. The panel showcases how women writers across space, time, nation, ethnicity, and genre are proponents of democracy.  The event covers the connection between women's literature and national culture and increases awareness that women's rights are democratic rights. Organized by Dr. Noreen Rivera, this event is co-sponsored by the UTRGV Department of Literatures and Cultural Studies (LCS) and the Gender and Women's Studies Program (GWSP).
